Hemlock Public School District is thrilled to announce the appointment of Lindy Beckman as our new Director of Instruction and Curriculum. With over two decades of experience in education, Lindy has an outstanding track record of leading curriculum development, implementing Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), and fostering student success through innovative practices and strategic collaboration.
Lindy most recently served as MTSS Director for Alma Public Schools, where her leadership led to significant reductions in chronic absenteeism, the development of an early warning data system, and the alignment of district-wide priorities to improve student outcomes. Prior to that, she held key roles as District MTSS Coordinator at Chesaning Union Schools and Special Education Supervisor and MTSS Consultant at Saginaw Intermediate School District. Her expertise spans curriculum alignment, literacy initiatives, professional learning facilitation, and systems-level improvement.
“Lindy Beckman is an exceptional educator and leader,” said Superintendent Dr. Don Killingbeck. “Her extensive experience in curriculum design, data-driven decision-making, and supporting educators at all levels makes her a perfect fit for Hemlock Public School District. Lindy will play a vital role in shaping instruction and driving initiatives that help every student succeed. We are excited to welcome her to the Huskie Pack.”
Lindy holds advanced degrees in educational leadership and curriculum from Saginaw Valley State University, along with specialized certifications in administration and special education supervision. She is well-versed in aligning instructional practices with state and federal requirements and has a passion for helping educators grow professionally while improving outcomes for students.
“Lindy’s expertise in building cohesive, innovative systems of support for students and staff is truly remarkable,” said Hemlock Board of Education President Matt Wesener, “Her ability to collaborate with teams, implement best practices, and drive continuous improvement will be instrumental as we continue to elevate the educational experience at Hemlock Public Schools.”
As Director of Instruction and Curriculum, Lindy will focus on ensuring Hemlock’s curriculum is seamlessly aligned with state standards while fostering innovation and responsiveness to the diverse needs of students. Her responsibilities include overseeing professional development, leading the school improvement process, managing state and federal reporting, and supporting classroom instruction across all grade levels. Lindy will also work closely with the administrative team to establish a forward-thinking vision for the district.
