October is National Principals Month, a time to shine a spotlight on the incredible building leaders who guide our students, lead our staff, and serve our stakeholders with dedication and passion. At Hemlock Public School District, we are fortunate to have a team of principals who work tirelessly to ensure the success of our students from their very first steps into the classroom through graduation. Their leadership and vision have a profound impact on shaping the futures of the young people in our community.
Cory Snider | Leading Our Littlest Learners
At Hemlock Elementary, Cory Snider serves as the principal for our youngest learners, from Cradle through Kindergarten. Cory has been a beacon of leadership and care, ensuring that our littlest Huskies have a strong foundation as they begin their educational journey. Now in his third year in this role, Cory brings energy, compassion, and a deep commitment to fostering a love of learning at an early age. His ability to create a nurturing environment for students and staff alike is a testament to his leadership.
Lori Gensch | Guiding Grades 1-4 at K.C. Ling
For the past nine years, Lori Gensch has led the team at K.C. Ling Elementary, overseeing grades 1 through 4. Lori’s focus on academic excellence, along with her dedication to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment, has been transformative for our school community. Under her leadership, students have thrived both academically and socially, and she has been a driving force behind initiatives that ensure every child feels valued and seen. Lori’s experience and steady hand have been key to the ongoing success of our elementary school.
Joshua Chase | Shaping Middle School Success
At Hemlock Middle School, Joshua Chase has spent the last five years leading grades 5 through 8. Joshua’s leadership has helped drive significant gains in student achievement while fostering a positive school culture where students are empowered to succeed both in and out of the classroom. He is known for his collaborative approach, working closely with staff, students, and families to create an environment where everyone feels supported. His innovative spirit and dedication to growth have made him a cornerstone of our middle school team.
Keith Green | Inspiring Our High Schoolers
Keith Green, the principal of Hemlock High School, has been at the helm for the past decade, leading grades 9 through 12. His commitment to preparing students for life beyond high school has been a hallmark of his leadership. Keith has overseen numerous improvements to the high school’s academic programs, extracurricular offerings, and facilities, all with a focus on ensuring students leave Hemlock High prepared for college, careers, and life. His decade of service is a reflection of his unwavering dedication to the success and well-being of our students.
"Our principals are the heart and soul of our schools," says Superintendent Don Killingbeck. "Their leadership creates a ripple effect that shapes the lives of not only our students but also our staff, families, and the broader community. We are incredibly fortunate to have such a dedicated and talented team leading our schools, and I’m grateful for their unwavering commitment to excellence. They truly embody what it means to #PullTheSled."
Each of these leaders brings a unique set of skills and experiences to their respective roles, but they all share a common goal: to provide the best possible education for our students. Their hard work, vision, and commitment to excellence are the foundation of our district’s success.
As we celebrate National Principals Month, we want to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude to Cory, Lori, Joshua, and Keith. Your leadership has made a lasting impact on our students, staff, and community. Thank you for all that you do to help our schools thrive!
