The Hemlock Public School District Board of Education proudly celebrated a significant milestone on Monday, August 19th with a ribbon-cutting ceremony marking the official opening of the new KC Ling Elementary Gymnasium. This facility represents a monumental leap forward for the school building and district, offering enhanced learning spaces and greater flexibility in the building schedule.
The new gymnasium provides students with an improved environment for physical education, addressing the growing needs of the district. It also allows for increased practice space, benefiting school athletic programs and community activities alike.
“This new gymnasium is more than just a building—it's a testament to our commitment to providing our students with the best possible facilities for their growth and development,” said Board President Matt Wesener. “We are excited about the opportunities this space will create for our students, staff, and the entire community.
Superintendent Killingbeck echoed these sentiments, stating, “This addition to KC Ling Elementary is a huge step forward for our district. It not only enhances our ability to deliver quality physical education but also opens up new possibilities for extracurricular activities and community engagement. We are grateful to everyone who supported this project and helped bring it to life.”
The new gymnasium is now open for use and is expected to serve as a vital hub for student activities, school events, and community gatherings for years to come. Stop by our K.C. Ling Elementary Open House tomorrow, August 21st, between 5:30pm and 8:00pm to experience the new space for yourself.
