Hemlock Public School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Trish Duran as the new Special Education Supervisor, effective August 2024. Duran joins Hemlock through a placement by the Saginaw Intermediate School District (Saginaw ISD), bringing with her a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to the success and well-being of students with exceptionalities.
Trish Duran, who has served as the Targeted Technical Assistance Provider at Saginaw ISD since January 2021, has built a reputation for her strong leadership, innovative approaches to special education, and her ability to forge meaningful partnerships with local administrators, teachers, and community stakeholders. In her most recent role, she successfully coordinated general supervision monitoring requirements, developed resources for professional development, and implemented countywide programs that have significantly benefited students with special needs.
Prior to her current position, Duran held the role of Post-Secondary Transition Lead Teacher at Saginaw ISD, where she led the development of a pioneering countywide program for students with exceptionalities, collaborating with local organizations such as the Saginaw YMCA and Covenant Health Care. Her work in this role was instrumental in providing students with valuable job opportunities and life skills, preparing them for successful transitions beyond the classroom.
Duran's educational background includes a Master of Arts in Special Education from Saginaw Valley State University, where she also earned her Secondary Teaching Certification and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. Her dedication to continuous learning and professional development is evident in her certifications and the high standards she holds in her work.
As the Special Education Supervisor at Hemlock Public School District, Duran will oversee special education services, ensuring that all students receive the support and resources they need to thrive academically and socially. Her expertise and leadership will be invaluable as the district continues to enhance its special education programs.
