Denise, a proud 1998 alumnus of Hemlock High School, brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her new role. Her deep roots in the community and her professional accomplishments make her an exceptional addition to the district's leadership team.
Denise's journey back to Hemlock Public School District is also a family affair, as her daughter will be a senior at Hemlock High School in the upcoming school year. This personal connection further strengthens her commitment to the district's success.

Educational Background
Denise holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Accounting from Northwood University and an Associate's degree in Business Administration and Accounting from Delta College. Additionally, she has attained certifications as a Business Office Manager from MSBO (2022) and completed Dale Carnegie Training in 2021.
Professional Experience
Denise brings extensive experience in finance and human resources, having held several key positions throughout her career:
Her previous positions include Director of Finance at Carrollton Public School, where she Managed budgeting for a school district with $40 million in revenues, prepared monthly board meeting reports, handled union negotiations, state reporting, banking administration, accounts payable, payroll oversight, transparency reporting, and annual financial audits.
Before that, she was the Finance Supervisor/Business Services Manager at Saginaw Township Community Schools (October 2018 to December 2023). Oversaw state reporting, pupil accounting, budget preparation, banking administration, ACA compliance, accounts payable, year-end closing, and payroll oversight.

As an experienced school finance professional, Denise is eager to contribute her expertise in financial management to support the district's initiatives and drive its continued success. She is committed to improving processes, increasing efficiency, and effectively utilizing technology.
